Optical and Electrical Properties of Amorphous Organic Semiconductors Under Intense Electrical Excitation

Aim: To investigate the basic physical parameters such as charge carrier mobility and polaron absorption for the realization of electrically pumped lasers based on organic semiconductors. Approach: We will investigate the absorption spectra, photoluminescence and electroluminescence spectra in organic semiconductors excited by short (100 ns) high voltage (1 kV) pulses and UV light. All experiments will be conducted in our Ultra-High Vacuum system. Impact: Better understanding of the physics behind charge carrier mobilities in organic semiconductors and precise measurement of polaron absorption.
